Highlighting Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Holly Perron Spring is in full swing here in Boston, but we haven’t forgotten about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. This season’s winner is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her home that truly capture the benefit shutters can bring to a space. Tonya’s home features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because her shutters are shut, you can really get a glimpse of how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it’s almost a great setting for an intimate candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your house, you can capture the mood you want at any time of day. Also worth mentioning is how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral tones let the black wood furniture and the hardwood floor’s natural color stand out even more. But that wasn’t her only photo submission. She also shared a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter! We love this barn door shutter for a lot of reasons. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The homegrown look of the wood paneling with that smooth black slider up top give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window operate. Since her shutter sits outside the frame, Tonya can still use that deep window jamb, too. For example, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can catch some rays while still controlling the light in her home. Tonya tells us that this is the third time she’s had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant. If you want to get your shutters featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to showcase some shutters from a Bay Stater next time! Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your home is missing something, we’d love to help.
